These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lux Helper mobile and web application (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Lux Helper ("we", "our", "us") operates the Service from Hong Kong. We provide a platform that introduces families to domestic helpers. We are not an employment agency, we do not employ domestic helpers, and we do not process or arrange contracts of employment on your behalf.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. By creating an account you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share it.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
You may only create one account per person. You must not impersonate another individual or provide false information on your profile.
When using Lux Helper, you agree that you will not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these rules, with or without notice.
Lux Helper lets users browse, match, chat and propose interviews with other users. Any decision to meet, hire, or enter into an employment relationship is made solely between the family and the helper. You are responsible for your own due diligence, including verifying identity, references, qualifications, immigration status, visa requirements and any other matter relevant to your decision.
Helpers may upload identity or credential documents (for example passport or HKID) to build their Trust Score. We use automated tools, including third-party artificial intelligence services, to extract information from and assess these documents. The Trust Score is an aid, not a guarantee — it does not constitute a background check, criminal records check, or confirmation that a document is genuine. You should always carry out your own verification before hiring any helper.
The Service can pre-fill Hong Kong Immigration Department forms (ID 407, ID 988A, ID 988B) and other contract documents using the information you and the other party provide and, in some cases, automated extraction from uploaded identity documents. Lux Helper is not a law firm or an employment agency, does not represent you before IMMD, and does not guarantee that any application will be approved.
In-app interview calls (video and audio) are hosted on Daily.co. We do not record the content of these calls and we do not store the audio or video. You and the other party are responsible for your own conduct on the call, including obtaining consent before recording locally on your own device. Use of these features is subject to Daily.co's own terms.
If you book delivery of signed contract documents through the Service, the delivery is performed by our courier partner Pickupp. By booking a delivery you authorise us to share the recipient's name, Hong Kong residential address and Hong Kong mobile number with Pickupp for scheduling and tracking. You are responsible for ensuring that someone is available at the address during the agreed window and that the delivery details you provide are accurate. We are not liable for losses, delays or damage caused by the courier.
You retain ownership of the content you upload (including profile photos and documents). By uploading content you grant Lux Helper a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and transmit that content solely to operate the Service. You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload and that it does not infringe third-party rights.
Some features of the Service may in future be offered as paid subscriptions. When that happens, prices, billing terms and cancellation rules will be presented to you before purchase, and purchases on iOS will be processed by the Apple App Store and on Android by Google Play. Refunds are governed by the applicable app store's policy.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any match will result in a successful hire.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any user of the Service, or for any dispute between a family and a helper arising out of an introduction made through the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lux Helper shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or HK$1,000, whichever is greater.
You may close your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we cease to operate the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.
